About
Code, Community, and Context.
I’m Brandon, a full-stack developer and open-source advocate. I spend my time building software that prioritizes user agency, privacy, and the philosophy of the open web.
My work is driven by the belief that digital tools should be transparent, extensible, and owned by the people who use them. Whether I’m architecting bespoke chat clients or contributing to the FOSS ecosystem, I focus on bridging the gap between high-performance engineering and ethical software design.
Key Projects
I specialize in building community-driven platforms and decentralized communication tools:
- Hermit (HermitX): A bespoke web and mobile client built for the Spacebar platform.
- FOSS Dump: Directory dedicated to promoting Free and Open Source Software.
Technical Focus
I build primarily with a modern, reactive stack and manage my environments with a hands-on approach:
- Frontend: SvelteKit, Next.js, and Flutter.
- Infrastructure: Supabase, Nhost, and PostgreSQL.
- Environment: Development on an Arch-based Linux distribution.
Interests & Advocacy
Beyond the code, I am deeply involved in the FOSS movement and the evolution of privacy-centric platforms. I’m an active advocate for Discord alternatives like Stoat.chat and Spacebar, and I enjoy exploring the intersection of modern technology and vintage aesthetics—whether through photography or reviving older hardware.
